Mysterious topics on a rainy Christmas Day

Today, lots of mysterious and very intellectual things occupied my thoughts. I started my day reflecting on the birth of the Christ child and reading some verses from Luke. It was a moment in history that had never happened before, God became a man and started life on Earth. I wonder how He did it, transferring Himself into the body of Mary. The doctors of the world would write novels about the process if it was revealed. I believe that God created the universe but the scientists at CERN are trying to discover by colliding particles at light speed. Recently, the Haldron Collider started working again: particle-accelerator news. I watched a movie this afternoon: Angels & Demons, about the anti-matter that could be developed with the help of the collider. In the movie, the anti-matter capsule battery goes bad and it reacts with matter to cause a huge explosion. However, a research scientist said that no anti-matter has been created yet or captured with the CERN project. There was a strange news story a few weeks ago about lights in the sky over Norway that looked similar to the anti-matter explosion in the sky in this movie. The fact that the collider is working now (hadron-collider-record) gives hope that anti-matter and dark matter could somehow be captured in a container in the future for research and use as an alternative fuel source. Other news from science is an article by NASA that the earth is heading for a part of interstellar space that has stronger magnetic fields and other strange cloudy material: Voyager headlines. If the earth enters this part of the universe in 2012, it could result in scenes from that recent movie: 2012. I purchased another movie today titled, Countdown: Jerusalem that is about the coming great tribulation times. It is good to know that even with all the new technology out there, God still watches over people in need. This link is from a finnish website about a prophecy dream that one person had about race cars: Prophecy website and visions of the future. He talks about how the last place race car, which looks like an old, used car compared to the others will win the race. Before writing this blog entry I did some reading on internet and LAN technology. I also read some user forum questions and replies. Bluetooth technology is becoming more popular these days because of more restrictions on driving while talking on a cell phone safety reasons. Here is a blog on an IT website about how the bluetooth works for a newbie: bluetooth headset review. From this web page you can also navigate to other tech review articles and discussions on Hothardware.com.

Christmas 2009

Well with about two weeks left till Christmas I am starting to think more about the holiday each day. It is a busy time for me at work but there are things to consider that make this holiday great. Just a few days ago, I setup my Christmas decorations in my home: A couple of manger displays, one made of wood and the other consists of porcelein type figures; A four foot tall fiber optic tree with lots of colorful lights, snow flakes, a bird, and lots of ball ornaments. I took a pic with my camera phone and will post it here sometime in the future. I did my shopping for Christmas at some stores at Crossroads plaza and a video store, both located in Cary, NC. Tomorrow morning I will take the presents to Qwik pack to have them mailed to Florida. Tonight I attended a Christmas show at Hope Community church. The set had some wrapped presents, stars, and characters dressed up in festive attire. There was a really tall and very decorated Christmas tree, without lights but with candles in the main area outside the doors. As I sang traditional Christmas songs, I was reminded of the real reason for all of these celebrations, the birth of Jesus. I look forward to the day that I will meet him in heaven or in the clouds. Although, from my study and research baby Jesus was probably born during the fall feasts of Israel, likely in September, not December. I know that my sister was born in December, her birthday is tomorrow. As I was driving home, I passed some Christmas lights in people's yards. I think the red, green, yellow, and white lights on the displays is the most effective combination. At work, we are playing Christmas music all day now. Two stations that play from Sirius radio are Holly, my favorite, and the 40's on 4 station(Old timers songs). And a final part of my Christmas is creating greeting cards, usually on my computer and mailing them out. I have used a software program called Hallmark Card Studio the past few years for getting ideas of templates and for changing the design with the Art studio application. It is a program with lots of extras and I would recommend purchasing the new version. I have used MS Publisher and Print Shop in past years to create the cards. If you have MS Publisher 2003 on your computer (it is part of MS Office 2003), then here is a website to check out on Office online: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/publisher/HA010348621033.aspx. For taking holiday photos I found this excellent article, which was a link in a message from one of my MS newsletters: http://www.microsoft.com/athome/photos/holidayphotos.aspx. If you have any more questions or comments about Christmas and how to use your computer, digital camera, or house for full effects this Christmas let me know.

And have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Camera Phone

Ever since I upgraded my AT&T phone last spring I have really enjoyed using the 3.2 megapixel camera on it. I take pictures on vacations, short day trips, and when playing sports or biking. It is a Sony Ericsson a760 red slider phone. I got the last one of this model from a RadioShack store, before they were replaced by a newer model. I had a very basic Sony Ericsson cell phone for almost 5 years, before this one and chose this manufacturer because it worked well for many years. However, my new phone has many more features and generally much upgraded technology than the former one. For example, it has an MP3 walkman button on the side and large speakers for playing music instantly. Also, it features a large screen for internet browsing and a built in GPS. Those are the main reasons I purchased this one, actually got it free with the new 2 year upgrade. However, there are some disappointments that I will briefly mention. Sometimes the SIM card will not pick up the network signal and an "Inactive SIM" error message will reboot the phone. The screen needs to be constantly wiped off because moisture builds up easily and distorts the display. And I noticed that lower right side of the touch pad backlight is not lighted like the rest of the numbers. These are minor issues and don't keep me from getting some good pictures with the camera. Yesterday I took the M2 2GB memory card out and put it in a card reader connected to my computer. Then I copied several months of photos taken with the phone to the right folder in my pictures folder on my Vista desktop. I then renamed some of them and plan to post some to my facebook profile. I just finished renaming all those photos from my camera phone. Here are a few; they have not been adjusted with any software:

Day number 22

Last night I was awakened by the sound of heavy rain and wind outside. Twenty years ago in the early morning hours of September 22, 1989 there was a fierce storm moving through at my childhood home in Charlotte, NC. It was a hurricane, with wind gusts of 80 mph, that toppled trees all around our yard and street. Hurricane Hugo was the worst storm that I ever been through and looking back I think it was a sign from God. Today I live in an apartment and the strange thing is the address number has the same first two digits as the date, it is 2214. My family were protected from the hurricane, while trees fell all around the yard, but thankfully not on our cars or house. I believe that the storm that is called the tribulation in the book of Revelation is on the way, but true believers will be saved from it at the Rapture with the help of the Holy Spirit. Today is also the first day of the season of Fall, a time when the earth is at an equal level to the Sun. For at the Autumn Equinox the earth is tilted at an equal level to the sun, in contrast to summer when it is bowed and winter, when it is raised. This is like man, represented by the earth, looking straight eye to eye at Jesus, the Son in heaven. The Fall season is a type of metaphor of the “fall of man” in the garden of Eden and also like when the flood destroyed the earth in Noah's time because the earth was so evil. There was flooding in parts of NC these last few days and here is an excerpt from a newspaper article: “Flooding in more than 20 counties in western NC closed roads, delayed school, and forced evacuations.” I pray that these people affected would be protected from the flooding. As I finish typing up this journal there is still heavy rain falling outside. I was driving on roads that had some minor flooding coming home from a movie. I am thankful that I am in the ark of God's grace, and safe from the flood of His wrath. I watched the latest Transformers movie and thought that the name could be another sign foreshadowing how Christians will be transformed at the Rapture to new heavenly bodies. Now it is even more clear than ever that only God knows the day and the hour of this event, since the Jewish new year has already started with the Trumpet blasts of Rosh Hashanah a few days ago. Still, Yom Kippur and the Feast of Tabernacles are yet to arrive in the next weeks and many are looking to these sacred days with new hope. Another interesting end of days thought that I had a few minutes ago is that I think it is the year 5770 on the Jewish calendar. Notice the last two digits of 70. In the year 70 AD something really big happened in Jewish history. The second temple was destroyed by the Romans, just as Jesus had told His followers that it would. The Christian body is referred to as the temple of the Holy Spirit in the NT. The 1970's were a time of strange people and pagan stuff like peace loving hippies, the new age movement, UFOs, and all kinds of new occult media. The US started to go down hill in morals and Christian living standards during this time, as people tried all those new age lifestyles and philosophies at the expense of the right, narrow way. It was also a decade when the born again movement in the church started and there were many revivals and powerful church services. In other words, it was a decade with a lot of spiritual battles and searching for truth. Even the film industry could have provided a sign to everyone with the release of the Star Wars movie in '77, showing how a time of spiritual battles between good and evil had arrived. I think that it is highly likely that as the 70's on the Jewish calendar are beginning, the world will see a great battle begin, it will be the final struggle between God and His followers verses the Devil and his. It will result in the great battle of Armageddon that the Lord will win and then the start of the thousand year reign of peace on the earth. So what do you think will happen in the last months of this year?

Paul

Are you ready for this September?

The last day of August has arrived and I am thankful for a productive and safe month. I was busy with on-site computer support, fixed many computer security, networking, and OS issues. The business I work for is Fast-teks, at www.fastteks.com. There is a franchise in most areas of the country, with knowledge techs to help you out of a computer problem quickly. I had some solid commissioned sales results in the electronic store I work at also. The Grand Teton park in Wyoming is the cool calendar picture above my desk, about to be changed with the arrival of September. In the same way, I will be moving to a new store for my sales job in the first week of September. In the fasttek job, there are plans for more business clients in the next few weeks. The mountain photo of my calendar reminds me of my short three-day vacation to Ski Beech earlier this month. On one day, we walked to the top of the mountain and took some pictures from the Land of Oz trail area. The weather was perfect, high 60's, like today oddly enough, with the rain and cold front in the area here in Raleigh. It was partly cloudy and you could see for miles in all directions from the top. I will try to post some pics of this view soon. It is exactly twelve noon here as I type out this post. Here is the important part: I believe that this September may be when the clock strikes 12:00 midnight, in God's prophecy calendar. As I change the page of my calendar, and view another incredible mountain (because it is a calendar of 12 mountain photos), God may change this world when the age of the church ends with the rapture. This is when all Christians are taken to a "higher place", like the top of a mountain to view the world below. Here are some political signs that point to the 7-year tribulation beginning this fall: the UN conference in late September will introduce a new Middle East peace plan, the EU parliamentary elections and EU Pres. Commission election in October will introduce new leaders. Here are some signs in the earth and sky: many close approaches by asteroids in late September and October that could hit the earth, the rings of Saturn will disappear in early Sept., increase of hurricanes this time of year (like Hugo that hit this area on 9/21), increase of earthquakes, and the Kraktoa volcano that could erupt soon. At my church we are talking about the Exodus in the sermon series, this could be another sign from God of our exodus to heaven in a few short weeks. Be sure that you are living right with God and with your neighboors, and you have asked for forgiveness of current sins. And don't be idle, but continue to work as you see the day approaching. If anyone reads this and wants to discuss other prophecies in the news that I didn't mention here in this short entry than post a comment with your questions. Have a great, happy, and blessed September.

Updates to May

Since my last post a lot has happened that I want to write about in this new entry. I am making progress in my golf video game, in the rivals mode, over half way complete, and playing it on the XP system. In the Arnold Palmer era, will see if the competition gets any better. My XP PC is still working well and I use it to install and test free software utilities and applications. My Vista system had to get a clean install of the OS after a problem with account permissions. I use free security protection for it now, and it loads faster on bootup. I got a new game last month called Trainz 2006, a train simulator. Here is a website that has good tech articles and the latest news: http://www.maximumpc.com. I continue to learn about computer technology in a reference book and may take the A+ exam when they publish the new version this fall. I am also learning more about electronic component technology like switches, resistors, current, soldering, volts, etc. in a book. I visit more social websites this year than last. Meetup.com has some cool events to attend at restaurants, courts, movie theaters, cafe's, and trails in this area. Another site that I update is http://www.facebook.com. I have a twitter and LinkedIn account as well. I sent some invitations to a few people after browsing for friends on my MySpace page. My friend and I played billards, disc golf, and darts many times around Raleigh and Cary. I hit some tennis balls a few times since January, but don't play as much as last summer. I fixed up my bike and took it to some off road trails near my apartment.

First entry of 2009

This is my first blog post on the blogger website. I named it Frontline blogging because it will be journals, articles, and various stories about my life on the front line. What exactly is the front line in 2009? It means to face what lies ahead and write about important news, events, faith issues, and tech that I see happen in front of my eyes each new day. It could be a news story, such as about the new Palm Pre smart phone that was displayed at the CES show in Las Vegas this week. This new phone has features that rival Apples's iPhone. I watched a video about CES from the PC Pro website, a technology focused site from the uk: http://www.pcpro.co.uk/. They highlighted other technology products like a cool blue tower desktop case and a high end X58 system board. Another tech site that I visit and post answers to questions is the Tom's Hardware website (http://www.tomshardware.com/). The news this week in the media was about the new President, Obama taking the oath of office. Check out MSNBC for more pictures and videos from politics and news: http://www.msnbc.com. In sports, the Superbowl this year will feature the Arizona Cardinals against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Aussie Open tournament is going on down under, and today I watched a few points on the LCD display while at work. I get updates by watching ESPN2 or check the web at: http://www.espn.com. That's all for now, until next time, keep moving front and forward.
