The Last Week in May

My last post was titled the first week in May, and now it is the last week. Since then a lot has happened around my apartment and community in Cary. It has rained more often and thankfully the plants and trees are green and healthy outside. I hear a bird outside my patio and can see that the ground is damp from a very rainy day yesterday. There were several heavy downpours and thunder many times during the morning, afternoon, and evening on Sunday. Since it was a Pentecost Sunday I thought maybe the rapture was about to happen, and the storms were a sign from God of the coming tribulation. However, it is now Monday morning and I am still here, but I did read a post were the author says that today is the real day 50 in the count of the omer. Next Monday is Memorial Day and a holiday to watch for the Lord's return. I remember this day begins the grilling season, were people get outside and grill. I once had an assembly job at a hardware store, were I had to build grills, and people would really start to buy them around Memorial Day through July 4th. Sometimes I would think that the grilling season could be the time that the tribulation begins. The fire and heat of a grill is similar to the fire and heat of magna from the earth arriving in erupting volcanos and underwater natural gas explosions that could cause damage to the earth. It has been cooler lately with high temps in the 70's and low 80's. The cool down could be the result of a new trend of global cooling that was in an article on the web. The scientist said that it could be a cycle of cooling that will last the next decade or longer. That oil leak in the Gulf is very alarming, and someone said could cause an evacuation of people living near the coast because of chemicals and fire hazards. The Tampa area is where my Mom and Dad currently live, and one that is affected by the oil slick. However, they purchased a new house in NC to be closer to us, and plan to move in the next few months. I will travel to visit them more often since they will live about 3 hours drive time away. Both Shelley and Austin live in that area too. I am going to the bank this morning to cash a check and then look at some apartments in the area. My lease ends in August so I need to check out what deals are out there, and a possible move. I go in to work at 12:30 and I have been working everyday since last Saturday. Will finally get a break from work this coming Thursday, which is also a full moon day, and a watch day for the rapture. I got a new bike seat and water holder so looking forward to a ride later this week. Peace out.

First Week in May

The first week in May went by fast. Sunday, after church I had to work for the day until 7:15. Sales of no contract phones and extended warranties on various products were strong last week. I remember having two tech appointments on Monday that both involved fixing laptop computers instead of desktops. Most of my tech work has been with repairing and optimizing older desktop systems from brands like Dell, Compaq, and HP. I remember seeing lots of colorful birds flying during my travels this week. I just saw and heard the chirp of a red cardinal outside on the small tree beside my patio. It must be fun to fly like a bird or like an eagle as that song says. I watched a superman movie on Saturday night and saw him fly around faster than a speeding bullet. In one scene he flys straight up into the clouds to get more energy from the sun. In the same way, the Christ follower gets new life, energy from Jesus, the Son of God. Someday at the rapture, the believer's body will fly just like superman up into the sky. Today, it is sunny and cool and I have the windows open to let the cool breezes in. The high of 69 degrees is perfect for biking this morning, and I plan to ride for an hour or more at a park in this area. There were a few hot and humid days this week, with the high temp in the 90's. It has not rained that much this spring, just a few showers and the rainfall defecit is getting larger. However, this is good weather for outdoor activities and I like that. I have been using my back machine this week everyday. It helps to relieve muscle soreness and align vertebrea in my lower back by using a special motion. I have noticed less back pain and the ability to move better during sports and exercising. For example, when I played tennis two days this week, once in a meetup group and once with a competitive player, I did not feel any lower back pain. Sunday was Mother's Day and I called Mom and she said that there house sold and they plan to move soon. I sent her a greeting card and photo both printed from my computer. During my devotional time this week I read various posts on a Christian prophecy website. One post that I remember very well was a timeline of the tribulation and second coming of Christ. The author explains key dates and historical events that support this end times perspective. Another web writer that I have followed for years thought that yesterday, May 9 would be the rapture. Well, that was not right, because today is May 10, and the church is still on the earth. I will still visit this website occassionally to see what the author thinks will happen next. Days to watch closely this week are Wednesday May 12-Saturday May 15. There is a new moon during these days, the start of another month in the Jewish calendar and May 14 is the day Israel became a Nation in 1948. There was an article recently that said a group was trying to divide the Old City of Jerusalem between the Israelis, Palestinians, and US, with an Adminstrator to rule over them. This news is straight from Bible prophecy, and could lead to the 7-year peace agreement that starts the tribulation. Whoever the new Adminstrator is will probably be the future anti-christ. It looks to me like the stage is set for the King of Kings to look down from heaven and watch the final drama play out before He returns at the Jubilee year to set up His kingdom at the New Jerusalem. My prayers go out to strengthen and encourage those Christians and new believers who may be left behind during the tribulation years. That is enough to write about in this post, so I am ending it here. Peace and blessings to you.
